An Army Wife with a Healer’s Heart: Bhupinder Kaur’s Graceful Service to the Defence Fraternity

Bhupinder Kaur, once a dedicated school teacher, found herself drawn toward a higher calling—one not confined to classrooms, but expansive enough to embrace humanity itself. Under the profound mentorship of Prof. Park Jae Woo, she immersed herself in the study of Sujok Therapy, Triorigin Science, and Smile Meditation, and what began as a personal quest soon transformed into a soul-driven mission. She began offering healing sessions to soldiers and their families with quiet devotion, using the gentle power of Sujok to ease pain, balance energy, and restore hope. As remarkable results began to emerge, word of her work spread organically through the Army community. Soldiers who had once suffered in silence found relief. Families living under the weight of stress and separation discovered peace. One by one, they began approaching her—not just for treatment, but for the deeper calm her presence inspired. What started as a modest offering became a healing movement—an unseen thread of wellness gently weaving through the defence fraternity.

A Soulful Journey Through Army Life

With every new posting that came her husband’s way—be it a bustling city or a remote field location—Bhupinder Kaur carried more than just belongings; she carried a sacred purpose. In each cantonment, she quietly began offering Sujok healing sessions and conducting Smile Meditation gatherings, bringing light into spaces often weighed down by duty, distance, and unspoken emotional strain. Soldiers, worn by physical pain or silent mental fatigue, found relief through her hands. Army families, living with uncertainty and sacrifice, discovered in her sessions a renewed sense of calm, balance, and hope. Without fanfare or expectation, her service became a gentle current of compassion that flowed through the corridors of army homes and hearts alike. It was not just a journey through army life—it was a journey of the soul, lived with devotion, grace, and an unwavering smile that inspired others to believe in healing from within.

The Turning Point: A New Chapter in Delhi

When Bhupinder Kaur’s husband was posted to Delhi, it marked more than a change of city—it became a divine turning point in her soul-led journey. By this time, the ripples of her healing work had already reached far corners of the army fraternity. Her quiet presence, her nurturing sessions, and the undeniable results of Sujok Therapy and Smile Meditation had become whispered testaments of hope among soldiers and families across India. In Delhi, those ripples turned into waves. Her humble service, once offered in silent devotion across scattered military stations, now began to shine in the capital’s light. Senior officers, dignitaries, and welfare leaders began to take note. What had started as a quiet mission in the shadows of camps now stood at the threshold of greater recognition and reach. Delhi, with its heartbeat of national service, became the sacred ground where Bhupinder’s healing mission took flight—anchored in humility, carried by grace, and powered by the silent blessings of countless hearts she had touched.

A Divine Call from the Heart of AWWA

It was a moment graced by destiny—when Bhupinder Kaur received a personal phone call from Mrs. Surjit Kaur, the esteemed President of AWWA,wife of General Bikram Singh (Retd), Chief of the Army Staff. The call carried not just words, but deep recognition of Bhupinder’s quiet yet transformative service across the Army fraternity. She was officially invited for a personal meeting at the AWWA Office in Delhi—a gesture that felt less like an appointment and more like a divine affirmation of her path. With humility and grace, Bhupinder stepped into the heart of AWWA, where she was warmly welcomed and interviewed by Mrs. Surjit Kaur herself. The compassionate leader, moved by Bhupinder’s sincerity and inspired by the proven healing results of Sujok Therapy and Smile Meditation, extended a heartfelt proposal: to formally establish a Sujok and Smile Meditation Centre under the prestigious banner of AWWA. For Bhupinder, this was more than recognition—it was the universe opening a larger doorway for her soul mission to blossom within the sacred realm of national service.

Inauguration of the Sujok & Smile Meditation Centre By Mrs. Surjit Kaur, AWWA President

Following the heartfelt meeting, Mrs. Surjit Kaur, AWWA President deeply touched by Bhupinder Kaur’s sincerity and the transformative nature of her work, made a landmark decision—to establish a Sujok and Smile Meditation Centre under the prestigious banner of AWWA in Delhi. For Bhupinder, it was a moment of both humility and divine affirmation. With reverence in her heart and tears of gratitude in her eyes, she accepted the responsibility not as a duty, but as a sacred offering. The inauguration of the centre took place in the presence of esteemed members of the Army fraternity, blessed by the graceful leadership of the AWWA President. Nestled in the heart of Delhi, the centre stood as a symbol of healing, peace, and inner balance—a space where soldiers, their families, and the larger defence community could find solace, support, and smiles amidst the challenges of military life.

From Service to Sanctuary: Bhupinder Kaur’s Healing Legacy Under AWWA’s Wings

What began as her soul-led service, rooted in sincerity and silent strength, was now nurtured into an organized, respected platform under the esteemed AWWA banner. Soldiers, veterans, spouses, and children found solace in this sanctuary—not only for physical pain but for emotional and mental rejuvenation. Bhupinder’s healing touch, guided by the principles of Sujok and the serenity of Smile Meditation, brought warmth and hope to countless lives. The centre radiated the essence of AWWA itself—quiet, graceful, and unwavering in purpose—embracing both visible wounds and invisible burdens with wisdom, care, and boundless compassion.

It became a sanctuary within the structured life of defence service, where pain was soothed, stress melted away, and smiles returned. This sacred healing space soon became a symbol of AWWA’s forward-thinking vision: to embrace both the seen and unseen wounds of those who serve, and to heal them with knowledge, care, and human warmth.

With the wholehearted encouragement of AWWA’s visionary leadership, and through the tireless efforts and humble devotion of Bhupinder Kaur, the Sujok and Smile Meditation Centre blossomed into a vibrant sanctuary of healing—becoming a living extension of AWWA’s compassionate mission. What began as a one-woman soulful offering transformed into a collective movement of care and well-being. Under Bhupinder Kaur’s loving guidance, many army wives stepped forward—not just as learners, but as healers. Trained in Sujok Therapy and Smile Meditation, they joined hands to form a beautiful team—a sisterhood of silent strength. Together, they served countless patients within the army fraternity, spreading waves of health, peace, and emotional balance. The centre became more than a place—it became a living force of harmony, where service flowed not from duty, but from the heart.

An Aura of  Sujok Healing Centre Healing Beyond Words

At the AWWA Sujok Healing Centre, healing begins long before the therapy starts. The moment a patient steps into the Reception-cum-Waiting Room, they are embraced by an invisible yet powerful aura—a sacred ambience where silence speaks, smiles greet, and peace gently settles the restless heart. The air itself seems infused with the subtle aroma of calmness and compassion. Each welcome—be it a gentle “Smile Morning” or a heartfelt “Smile Afternoon”—is offered with warmth, creating a space where every face is a reflection of hope.

A beautiful smile welcome awaits every patient, lovingly offered by Mrs. Sudha, Deepali, and Reena. Their heartfelt greetings bring light into the space, and no one who enters misses this genuine gesture of warmth. With the same love, these graceful women continue to extend healing through their hands, treating each patient with dedication, care, and compassion.

The environment resonates with the soft chants of the Smile Mantra, playing continuously like a healing river flowing through time. Morning prayers and Smile Meditations are a daily ritual, purifying the space and uplifting every soul that walks in. Patients often express that even before their therapy begins, merely sitting in this space brings comfort, clarity, and a deep sense of being cared for. It is not just a waiting room—it is a sanctuary where the body rests, the mind slows down, and the soul begins to smile.

My heartfelt thanks to Sudha, Deepali, and Reena—for not just supporting the centre with your presence, but for filling it with your love, smiles, and sincerity. Your devotion has been a quiet blessing on this healing journey.

A New Dawn of Support and Expansion: Under the Visionary Leadership of Mrs. Namita Suhag, AWWA President

The Sujok Healing Centre continued its noble journey with quiet consistency, powered by Bhupinder Kaur’s unwavering devotion and the selfless teamwork of many trained army wives. However, as the leadership of the Army shifted, a new chapter unfolded. Following the retirement of Army Chief General Bikram Singh and AWWA President Mrs. Surjit Kaur, the next torchbearer, Mrs. Namita Suhag—wife of General Dalbir Singh Suhag—assumed the role of AWWA President.

Mrs. Namita Suhag was already familiar with the miracles of Sujok Therapy. She had not only witnessed Bhupinder Kaur’s healing sessions but had personally attended them at the NCC Auditorium. Deeply moved and inspired by what she experienced, she offered her heartfelt encouragement, urging Bhupinder to continue this soul-led service with renewed zeal.

This warm affirmation from the highest level became a turning point. Mrs. Namita Suhag’s belief in Bhupinder’s mission became a radiant guiding light, igniting a fresh wave of purpose and expansion. Empowered by this trust and support, Bhupinder began extending the healing presence of the Sujok Centre beyond Delhi. With her team of devoted Sujok-trained army wives, she began representing the AWWA Sujok Centre in various cities—carrying with her not just therapy tools, but the spirit of care, healing, and the divine smile.

Her love for the work was not just deep—it was sacred. Each journey, each session, each patient became part of a living legacy—a testimony to what happens when grace, support, and service come together in harmony.

A Moment of Soulful Recognition AWWA Excellence Award

And then came a moment—a silent yet powerful turning point—when AWWA, with grace and gratitude, soulfully recognized the tireless service of Bhupinder Kaur. Her hands had healed hundreds; her heart had comforted many more. Without ever seeking applause, she had poured her love and devotion into each healing touch, driven only by her inner calling to serve.

But the universe was watching.

So were countless grateful eyes—wives, soldiers, veterans, and children—who had found peace, relief, and strength through her Sujok Therapy and Smile Meditation sessions. The ripples of her silent seva reached far and wide, echoing through corridors of care and compassion, until they touched the heart of AWWA’s leadership.

In a grand and dignified award ceremony, amidst the presence of many dignitaries and fellow warriors of compassion, Bhupinder Kaur was honoured with the AWWA Utkrishtata Puraskar (Excellence Award) for her exemplary service. The award was presented by none other than Mrs. Namita Suhag, AWWA President, who had herself experienced Bhupinder’s healing presence and been deeply inspired.

It was a moment etched in gold—not because of the award itself, but because it reflected the light Bhupinder had been quietly radiating for years.

Though she had never worked for recognition, her sincerity and spiritual commitment naturally blossomed into respect, love, and honour. That day, a healer’s inner light was embraced by the collective spirit of AWWA—and her journey stood as a testimony that when service is pure, recognition flows not from ambition, but from divine timing.

A Golden Tribute to Healing and Service: AWWA Golden Jubilee

During the momentous occasion of the AWWA Golden Jubilee, a prestigious Coffee Table Book was released, capturing the essence of compassion and service within the defence community. Among the many initiatives highlighted, the Sujok and Smile Meditation Centre found heartfelt recognition for its profound impact on the well-being of countless families. As a touching gesture of appreciation, Mrs. Namita Suhag, the esteemed President of AWWA, sent a personal DO letter to Mrs. Bhupinder Kaur, acknowledging her as the pillar of Sujok Healing Therapy Centre. In her warm and gracious words, she praised Bhupinder’s tireless dedication and immense contribution to the AWWA fraternity. Accompanying the letter was a gifted copy of the AWWA Coffee Table Book—symbolizing an honour not only bestowed on a healer, but on a spirit devoted to uplifting lives through the light of natural healing and inner smile.

A Presidential Honour: A Moment Etched in Grace by President Pranab Mukherjee

In a moment that blended dignity, humility, and honour, Bhupinder Kaur was invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan—not alone, but in the distinguished company of Mrs. Namita Suhag, President of AWWA,  other esteemed AWWA members and her dedicated healing team. This invitation came from none other than Hon’ble Former President of India, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, as a gesture of heartfelt appreciation for the transformative healing services offered through Sujok Therapy and Smile Meditation.

This meeting was a testament to the truth that pure service, when offered with devotion and without desire for recognition, finds its way to the highest realms. The walls of Rashtrapati Bhavan echoed with the silent power of healing smiles and selfless acts—a moment forever etched in Bhupinder’s journey as a healer.

A New Chapter of Grace: Under the Guiding Light of Mrs. Madhulika Rawat AWWA President

With the retirement of General Dalbir Singh Suhag and the graceful departure of Mrs. Namita Suhag from her cherished role as AWWA President, a new era unfolded under the gentle and dignified leadership of Mrs. Madhulika Rawat, wife of Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat.

Radiating humility, compassion, and profound dedication, Mrs. Madhulika Rawat became a quiet yet powerful force behind the Sujok and Smile Meditation Centre. With heartfelt support, she uplifted the mission and lovingly guided Bhupinder Kaur and her healing team to reach even greater heights.

Under her thoughtful encouragement, the Centre expanded its services with renewed energy. Healing camps, Smile Meditation gatherings, and Sujok therapy sessions reached countless lives within the defence fraternity. What began as a compassionate initiative now transformed into a spiritual and therapeutic movement—blessed by her grace.

Mrs. Rawat’s unwavering trust lit a divine flame within the hearts of the healers, making the Sujok Centre a sanctuary of love, peace, and holistic care. Her name became etched in the silent prayers and gratitude of many—a leader who stood not just in position, but in true service to humanity.

The Power of One Becoming Many: A Tribute to the AWWA Sujok Therapy Team

Behind every healing touch and every smile restored at the AWWA Sujok & Smile Meditation Centre stands a dedicated team of Sujok therapists—nurtured, trained, and deeply inspired by Bhupinder Kaur. What began as a single thread of service woven with sincerity has blossomed into a strong and vibrant fabric of collective care. From one therapist to many, the Sujok Centre evolved into a sanctuary of holistic healing—each team member contributing their energy, devotion, and heartfelt presence. These Sujok healers, bound not only by training but by the spirit of compassion, have become torchbearers of Bhupinder Kaur’s vision. Their hands offer more than treatment—they offer hope, light, and an unwavering Smile Spirit. It is through their consistent dedication, humility, and love for humanity that the centre grew, touching lives across the defence community and beyond. The journey of healing expanded beautifully only because of this cohesive and compassionate AWWA Sujok Therapist Team, whose unity transformed a vision into a living reality.

A Blossoming Legacy of Healing Across the Nation

Since its inception, the Sujok and Smile Meditation initiative within AWWA has continued to thrive—blending traditional values with modern outreach through both online and offline platforms. Smile Meditation camps and Sujok healing sessions became ongoing movements of wellness and compassion. New therapists were trained with great care, nurtured in the philosophy of Smile, and imbued with the spirit of service. With the transfer and postings of therapists’ army spouses to various corners of the country, Sujok healing centres began blossoming like seeds carried by the wind—each one rooted in service, each one a sanctuary of relief.

Across cities and cantonments, Sujok clinic branches opened their doors, offering healing not just to officers, JCOs, and ORs, but also to their families and elderly parents. What began as a single healing centre has now grown into a pan-India healing network, reflecting the expanding strength of collective devotion.

Thousands of patients have found relief through the soothing, non-invasive power of Sujok therapy, and the quiet strength of a smile. The number of dedicated therapists continues to grow, bound by a shared mission—to bring comfort, balance, and light into the lives of those who serve the nation. This sacred movement, guided by the humble love, tireless dedication, and nurturing presence of Bhupinder Kaur—and supported by AWWA’s unwavering encouragement—stands today not just as a therapeutic system, but as a living embodiment of compassion in action.”

The Soul Threads of My Journey”

In this sacred journey, I was divinely guided to meet many beautiful souls whose inner calling aligned harmoniously with my own and with the universal mission of healing and upliftment. To all those radiant souls who walked beside me—supporting, serving, and carrying this healing smile forward—I offer my heartfelt gratitude.

Among these blessed connections, I feel especially grateful to mention Mrs. Anju Gupta, wife of Maj. Gen. Suresh Gupta. Her unwavering support, dedication, and inner zeal touched my heart deeply. After completing her certified Sujok training, she immersed herself wholeheartedly in the healing path. Through her passionate pursuit and sincere studies, she blossomed into not only a healer but also an ISA Certified Lecturer, illuminating many lives with the wisdom of Sujok.

After the retirement of our husbands from military service, our dedication to healing did not pause—it deepened. Our Smile activities now continue in Gurugram, India, with the same sacred spirit, unwavering love, and heartfelt sincerity as before. We follow the same luminous path we once walked under the AWWA banner and ISA banner—offering Sujok therapy, conducting Smile Meditation sessions, and spreading joy, awareness, and healing. The space may have changed, but the essence remains untouched.

We continue to serve with devotion, hand in hand, carrying forward the light of Sujok and the philosophy of Smile Civilization—nurturing each life with compassion, prayer, and purpose.

From the Depth of My Heart: A Tribute to All Who Walked With Me

I express my heartfelt thanks to the entire prestigious AWWA family, to every therapist, student, patient, and staff member who became a part of this ever-growing Smile Movement. Their contributions, faith, and shared commitment formed the soil from which this garden of healing bloomed.

From silent steps to smiling rays,
Together we journeyed through healing ways.
With seeds in hand and hearts so wide,
You walked with me, right by my side.

AWWA’s arms so warm and kind,
Gave this vision roots to find—
Not just a place, but a sacred space,
Where love and touch restore with grace.

Each therapist, each soul so true,
Lit the path with what they knew.
Each prayer, each smile, each selfless deed,
Watered the roots of a growing need.

To fevery student, therapists and patients
Whose spirits helped this mission extend—
I bow with gratitude, full and deep,
For the promises made, and those we keep.

This is not an end, but a rising flame,
Each healed heart shall speak your name.
For from your trust, this light has grown—
A smile civilization, gracefully sown.
